GötLEC 2010 short description
Chalmers LEC was held in both categories, first day TD and CS in the second day. For the first day we planned an interesting and funny task for participants, to make a landing area for an egg (results were a bunch of broken eggs in the middle of Chalmers). The hard part was making and preparing a good case for CS competition. After a long discussion between our group and involving some professors we made our case about a real hot topic! Haiti earthquake. The coolest part about the CS was the assessing of results which one our judges was the Dean of Chalmers, and by his presence LBG Gbg and GötLEC accredited more in Chalmers.

CS Winners overview
We think it was a different way of self improvement, since we needed to take actions based on our own experiences and usually in engineering competitions, subjects are not related to the competitors study fields. Therefore, it was a different approach for us as engineers to show that we can be self educated about a new subject in a short time. GötLEC was held in a high-quality manner, moreover the subject discussed on Case Study was recent, extremely interesting and above all a real one. Although it was something which we were all aware of it, we had never actually considered it.

As a result, it caused us to have a better comprehension regarding real life, reminded us the importance of being time-sensitive for decision makings, and in addition led us towards how to use our knowledge and thinking abilities in areas not related to our educations. We hope to gain more and more knowledge and experiences in Copenhagen and use them in our future life.

Ultimately, the BEST organizers did it well. Basically everything was perfect: subject introduction, support material, study rooms for each group, coffee, dinner, party and so on.

TD Winners overview
Engineering competitions are always challenging and a lot of fun, including this one. It was fun to work with a team of previously unknown members to each other, become friends and even win the competition in the end!
Everything was well organized. There were no uncertainties about the rules during competition and the grading system in the end. At the end of the Team Design we understood, how a real group work (even with a team you already didn’t know them) can help a project to go in a proper way and this can also give team members motivation for a better work. Congratulation to the organizers of this gorgeous event! And finally the wining prizes were fabulous.

President of LBG Gothenburg overview
It was a great achievement for our BEST group holding an engineering competition (EC) in Chalmers for the first time! This EC increased the connection with university, and BEST visibility among students, moreover it almost worked as a Motivational Weekend for our members, and higher integration and motivation among them afterwards is obvious! Besides it resulted in recruitment of some newbies!

We had some tiny mistakes in planning, timing and organizing, which all owed to lack of knowledge and experience in this field, but hopefully in the end everything went perfect. Definitely, it will be more than awesome next year with the precious experiences LBG Gothenburg has gotten now!

Organizers overview
A big step forward for our LBG! It did not only work as a means for our members to wake up and reunite to organize an event and create a lot of fun out it, but also counted as an awesome warm-up for our LBGs big task: the summer course! It was the perfect ‘low-hanging fruit’ that LBG Gothenburg picked, every bite of which was planning experience, execution know-how, and motivation boost for everyone.
