Unfortunately, all good things come to an end but not without offering a City Rally around Stockholm!

Those participants who have not left this morning can enjoy a marvelous and modern city with the sun shining beautifully.

Thank you everyone for making this event successful, especially all participants who came to Stockholm to show their great skills, perseverance and best attitude. You are all winners!

2nd day of competition (4th of April)

Morning

The second day of competition has started. In the morning, Case Study and Team Design tasks are presented by the Topic Team.

This time Case Study teams have to analyze the environmental problems faced by city of New Delhi in the year 2030. The main object of the task is to prepare a presentation for the New Delhi Authorities, advising them on what to do in order to tackle the challenges arising from being a centre of economic and population growth. On the other hand, Team Design teams are challenged to design and build a throwing device. Their fragile cargo, an egg, must survive the impact with ground.

Of course, a continous coffee break is still available for the entire competition in KTH Library and Nymble, buildings of the competition. And they still have the best coffee and chocolate thanks to Nestlé.

Lunch time

There is a lunch lecture as well today. EITICT Labs presented their master programs where the aim is to breed entrepreneurial talent through broad educational activities. See more information in their webpage: http://eit.ictlabs.eu/

Afternoon

In the afternoon, all teams of both categories present their solutions. Then, the judges conduct the proper and searching discussions to evaluate each team. Meanwhile, participants have 1 hour free to relax themselves and be ready for the results.

Before the official closing, Sparkling Science gives a presentation about its platform. Sparkling Science is an open platform for challenge-driven science and innovation, where single scientists, universities and companies can initiate scientific problems and invite anyone to contribute seamlessly on a global scale.

Finally, the winners of both categories are announced.

Evening

Gala dinner is served the social activity this evening is: International evening! Every participant shares their culture with food and drinks from their country.

1st day of competition (3rd of April)

Morning

Our amazing participants are waken up from 6.30 and breakfast is served from 7.00 to 8.00. Although, it is a tough time to start, everybody is at the opening at 8.00- 8.30. Participants wants to know everything of EBEC Nordic 2012, so let’s give them what they want with the official opening.

Wake up games always help to be fresh, just before the 1st workshop. This workshop is presented by Selling Solutions and participants work in teams of 8 members (1 team of TD and 1 of CS) The competition has started!

A continous coffee break is available for the whole working time in the same building, so everybody can chill out. They have the best coffee and chocolate thanks to Nestlé. So, everyone has a nice pause with Kit kats, Lions and Nescafé.

At the end of the morning, every 8-members team makes a presentation with their innovative solutions and of course their work is evaluated and counts as part of the competition.

Lunch time

Now, it is lunch time and we choose to have it in the BEST way, learning at the same time. It consists in a lunch lecture about Erasmus Mundus in one of the regular KTH classroom, just next to the building of the competitions.

Afternoon

Case Study and Team Design 1st tasks are presented by the Topic Team.

Case Study teams work in KTH library, having one room per team. The topic is very interesting, they have to analyse the commercial use of the Northern Sea Route.

Team Design teams work in the same big room in Nymble and they are suposed to build a vessel that travel certain distance, pick up cargo and carry as much as posible cargo.

Of course, coffee break is available for the whole working time in Nymble and KTH library.

Finally, participants present their solutions around 16:00 – 17:00 in Nymble. EBEC Nordic followers can watch the Team Design results on air! Thanks to our channels on LiveStream.

Evening

Dinner is served around 19:00 and the social activity this evening is: Latino party! Sangría is the main drink and salsa the main dance and music. Fiesta!

Arrival day (2nd of April)

Today, EBEC Nordic participants are arriving. They will enjoy a nice dinner in the evening and for those lucky ones who arrived before dinner time, they can visit Stockholm, because the sun is shinning to welcome them.

They come from all the nordic region: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden; and they are the BEST engineers of nordic region. Who will be the very BEST? You will discover it in two days.

EBEC Local Round – Gothenburg 2012

EBEC Gothenburg was held on 23th of March. In total nine teams of four people each competed to be the participant at EBEC Nordic in Stockholm.

This year the category was Team Design with the topic Alternative Energy. The discussion with the sponsor Norconsult led to hydro power, a raising energy source in the future electriAll Postscity mix. The task was to build a turbine and lift a weight as high as possible. To make it more difficult only 1.5l water were given to each time, so the machine had to me very efficient.

The reached results were amazing. Each time came up with different sollutions and each of it had its own weaknesses and strengts. Every single team did a very good job.

Winner of the competition was the team Lean2Green. Congratulations and the very best for the next step in Stockholm.
